Ziua Pietrei 2025
Every summer in Racoș, at the heart of the Carpaterra Geopark, the “Day of the Stone” Festival takes place — an annual cultural event dedicated to nature, people, and the history of the region.
Reaching its 8th edition in 2025, the festival brings together the local community, artists, tourists, and lovers of natural heritage in a vibrant celebration of the geopark’s identity.
Throughout a day filled with color and emotion, visitors can enjoy thematic exhibitions, children’s workshops, local product fairs, guided tours of the extinct volcano area, and classical music concerts inside the Stilled Volcano.
The 2025 edition introduced a new attraction that won over the public — the “Geopark Adventure Challenge – Family & Friends,” a friendly competition for families and groups of friends who explore Racoș through movement, play, and discovery.
The festival is organized by the Carpaterra Association, in partnership with the Racoș Town Hall, the Racoș Forest and Pasture Commons, and the Alsorakosért Association, the administrator of the Sükösd-Bethlen Castle.
The event is part of the Carpaterra Geopark’s vision to promote cultural development and nature education through a participatory and responsible approach.
Year after year, the “Day of the Stone” gathers hundreds of participants, confirming that Racoș is not only a spectacular place but also a living community that tells its story through culture, science, and the joy of being together.
All editions of the festival have been supported through projects funded by the Brașov County Council.
The 2026 edition will bring new experiences, workshops, and themed hikes — an invitation to rediscover the magic of stone and the strength of community.
